Organizational reform and personnel redeployment

NACHI-Fujikoshi seeks to expand sales in the environmental protection and energy conservation markets, and strengthen marketing functions and engineering in such areas as cutting tool production. With these goals in mind the company will implement organizational reform and shift personnel to sales, among other redeployment of personnel at the executive level.

1. Organizational reform (dated November 1, 2007)

(1) Full-time teams will be established at each main branch to promote market
development in the areas of environmental protection and energy conservation.

  • In industries where our products are in high demand, we are further strengthening efforts in environmental protection and energy conservation, and we find that needs are growing for the effective utilization of existing equipment as well as for equipment refurbishing and maintenance.
  • On August 1, 2008, NACHI Industrial Service Co., Ltd. was established to focus on hydraulic equipment and filtration systems, offering energy-conserving unit replacements and other engineering services.
  • A new Environmental Protection/Energy Conservation Group will now be established at each main branch aiming to discover needs and expand sales in this area primarily in industrial machinery, with a focus on energy-saving compact hydraulic units.
Note: Filtration systems are equipment for filtering the metalworking fluid that is discharged in the cutting process of machining work.

(2) Engineering functions in the area of cutting tools will be strengthened, and the
regrinding and recoating businesses expanded.

  • In the area of machining in the last few years, against a backdrop of high-efficiency, high accuracy processing being done and environmental measures being taken, there has been significant growth in demand for cutting tool regrinding and recoating both domestically and internationally, primarily for broaches, gear-cutting machines, and other precision tools.
  • NACHI-Fujikoshi is taking advantage of our strength in material and thermal processing, coating, and grinding technologies to provide regrinding and recoating services both domestically and internationally.
    • Toyama Plant
    • Eastern Japan Service Center (Ayase City, Kanagawa Prefecture)
    • NACHI (Shanghai) Precision Tools Co., Ltd. (China)
    • NACHI Precision North Carolina Inc. (USA)
  • An Engineering Section will be newly established within the Machine & Cutting Tool Division to further extend the cutting tool engineering business with a focus on industrial machinery to complement the company's focus on the automobile and automotive parts field. For this purpose, tool engineering service (TES) activities are being carried out in this section through a Tool & Coating (T&C) Office and Sales Engineering Office to provide customer support.

(3) Machine production and robot fields to be enhanced with marketing functions

  • A Marketing & Engineering (M&E) Office will be newly established at the Machine Tool Plant to actively propose technical solutions to precision processing needs in the marketplace for machinery and precision products.
  • A System Engineering Office will be newly established in the Robot Division to strengthen sales support activities by proposing robot systems and implementing systems for customers in the field of industrial machinery.
